Soldiering On

Events of 23rd July 2015

Kittens still driving me nuts.

Vet check showed nothing obviously wrong. For most part they're active and showing no temperature.

Trying the tough love approach instead of force feeding them. Their poop is still being totally abnormal with Willow visiting her litter tray the most out of all of them.
Pretty little kitten but so far failing in her poop report.
Besides that its just appetite not being as good as I'd like so trying to introduce dry food to their wet to convince them that it is edible.

Wally was off color and I got the approval to get him seen by the vets on a non vet day. I had suspected he had a temperature but once again he got to the vets and had nothing. *Grr*
I really didn't need to go to the vet ~ Wally
The vet gave him an antibiotic shot anyway as a precaution and advised that he be put on a bland diet of boiled chicken.

I took the advice of another person with lots of experience with kittens as well and fasted him overnight to allow his gut to evacuate whatever he had inside as well as just generally settle his tummy. It had worked before with Splenda when she'd been going at both ends and it generally gave their body a break.

The following morning Wally was hungry enough to not turn his nose up at the food.
Showing some more energy.
On the following days there was no vomit and their appetite remained good. They were allowed a short run about in the lounge where I hand fed Wally some chicken and nearly lost a finger.

How it warms my heart to see kittens EAT.
What are you on about? I'm perfectly fine.

Worried about the Weenies

Events of 16th July 2015

Oh boy.

The Weenies are driving me insane.

We have gains, we have significant losses.

We have formed poo, runny poo, formed poo, runny poo....

My emotions are Yay we're over this issue...then Dang it, no we're not.

Of all the Weenies, Wanda is the only one remaining fine and normal, eating well, pooping well and even breaking the 1kg mark.
Don't look at me, I'm not causing any problems ~ Wanda
Wally had a rise gaining most of his lost weight but is now bouncing around in weights again because of his on and off appetite.
I live to make you worry ~ Wally
Willow decided to try inhaling water or something as I caught her in a fit of sneezing by the waterbowl and she ended up making herself sick.
I should make better judgement on water levels in the future ~ Willow
All are now in separate pens to monitor their litter habits and food intake. Hopefully we get over this soon so the kittens can find homes.

I mean I'm in no rush to send them back but at the same time I'd love if they'd be normal happy, healthy kittens.

In a Prickle

Events of 13th January 2016 Well there always comes a time in the season where its a juggle between kittens that need care and ones that do...
